Free People presents: Dream Girl by FreePeople
Humans use technology to improve their lives, to forge connections, to create time that doesn’t exist, to replace real interactions. When we devise a second version of ourselves on social media, do we lose a piece of our true selves in the process? Do our digital connections threaten our real life relationships? What happens if the filtered characters we’ve imagined take on a life of their own? For many years Free People has told love stories -- we wanted to explore what our world could look like in the near future.... Toback vs. Mailer: The Incident by Victory Journal
Betting, boxing, and boozing: this is the weird, true story of the time Norman Mailer confronted James Toback to argue about the difference between bourbon and scotch, setting off a years-long rivalry that climaxed in a stare-down during a tense Jets vs. Browns game and a couple well-placed stomach punches. In this short, directed by Josh and Benny Safdie, and illustrated by Sammy Harkham, Toback recounts the tale of his of his encounters with one of America's all-time great writers.
WITNESS by Mikhael Paskalev
An ode to letting in the fears of heartbreak and failure and riding on the crest of those feelings. “Turn those broken dreams, into rainbows of lazer beams…and keep dancing" After Paskalev is confronted by “Death”, a young, inoffensive man with his customary questionnaire on life and regrets, Paskalev is granted one final wish; to express himself through dance. The scene unfolds in a cheaply converted old swimming pool, as Mik plays out his routine under the gaze and judgement of Death. “A Witness in the Shadow of Love”. The dance slowly inspires a yearning and rapport between both characters as they come together for the last throes of the video. Bringing home the final release and optional metaphors. Directed by Mikhael Paskalev, Joe Wills, Jasper Spanning Cinematography by Jasper Spanning Edited by Joe Wills & Mikhael Paskalev Production Viktor Ivanov Graded by Hannibal Lang Actors: Mik&Joe Special, loving thanks to Mama Paskalev, Dimitur Popov & Gergana Milfovska

NOVAE - An aestethic and scientific vision of a supernova by Thomas Vanz
Headphones and 1080p recommended. Novae is a movie about an astronomical event that occurs during the last evolutionary stages of a massive star's life, whose dramatic and catastrophic death is marked by one final titanic explosion called supernova. By only using an aquarium, ink and water, this film is also an attempt to represent the giant with the small without any computed generated imagery. As a tribute to Kubrick or Nolan's filmography, Novae is a cosmic poem that want to introduce the viewer to the nebulae's infinite beauty. The Last Steps | A Really Great Big Story by Great Big Story
On December 7, 1972, NASA launched Apollo 17, a lunar mission crewed by Eugene Cernan, Ronald Evans and Harrison Schmitt. It would be the last time humans traveled beyond low Earth orbit, the last time man landed on another celestial body, and the last time man went to the moon. The Last Steps uses rare, heart-pounding footage and audio to retrace the record-setting mission. A film by Todd Douglas Miller. This Really Great Big Story was made in collaboration with our friends at CNN Films. It is one of 12 short films that we will be releasing throughout the year. Stay tuned for more!
