Random walks by Borbála Tompa
-SYNOPSIS- The visual world rests on interviews, the sound of which follows through the film as a narrative. We follow the story of five immigrants in Budapest, two of whom still lives here as refugees. We touch upon various levels of their refugee life from the banal to the very severe. In economic theory random walk means that stock market prices cannot be predicted. thus, each time, the price had a fifty-fifty chance of closing higher or lower than the previous day. -FESTIVAL APPEREANCES- 2016 / 2nd Hungarian Film Week - official selection Mediawave Film & Music Festival - official selection FESA / Festival of European Student Animation - panorama program BuSho / The Budapest Short International Film Festival - panorama program Fantoche International Animation Film Festival - panorama program GRAFIXX Festival Antwerpen - panorama program 23rd International Animated Film Festival KROK - official selection KLIK! At home by Nick Kontostavlakis
I am Nick, a freelance photographer. In the past 10 years I‘ve been travelling and photographing around the world. What I realized, though, was that I had gradually stopped seeking new destinations. I found a place that offered me a sense of stability and warmth where my inspiration and creativity amplified. Nature in all its’ forms was still surrounding me: Snowy landscapes, deep canyons, lakes and rivers, vast forests and of course the sea. In the end, I think I found my destination, a place that has nurtured me, and has always been so close to me. That makes me feel home! ----- Produced and directed - Nick Kontostavlakis Editing - FKY https://vimeo.com/fky Cinematography - Nick Kontostavlakis & Antonis Kitsikis Text - Cheryl Rock Voice - Dimitris Kaplanis Camera - Antonis Kitsikis Time-lapse - Nick Kontostavlakis & Nikos Pomonis Drone - Nick Kontostavlakis ----- Music - Tony Anderson ----- Camera Equipment : www.anima-vision.com & www.whitebalance.gr ----- You can follow me at: Facebook - facebook.com/nickkontostavlakispage Instagram - instagram.com/nickkontostavlakis Website - https://ift.tt/2hks0MH Google + - plus.google.com/u/0/102206608476266130067 ----- Some technical info: Shot mostly with Canon C200 + Angenieux 30-90 EZ 1 DJI Inspire + X5s Nikon Dslrs for timelapse.

META: Immunity by META
Director's Statement: The term “I do what I love to escape” is something that Aaron and myself disagree with. We believe it is quite opposite of that. Our belief being that when you are doing what you love, you are completely tuned in and as close to reality as you can humanly be. It’s like a form of meditation. When Aaron is at the bar, he is tuned out. He is having troubles facing reality but knows exactly what he has to do in order to heal himself. That is where we coined the term Immunity. It is an act of healing. So Aaron leaves the bar and his demons behind in order to find himself, which is through riding his motorcycle. Overall, we had a very strong crew. This was a passion project so I was fortunate to have some very talented people pull some huge favors to help complete this. I couldn’t have done it without a solid team behind me. I would like to give a huge shout out to the boys at WZRD Media and Ryan Sheets from Sheets Studios for believing in me and truly allowing our vision to become a reality. A portrait of Iraq. by Janssen Powers
If you Google image search “Iraq” looking for photos of anything other than soldiers and war then you're in for some serious scrolling... Since the spring of 2016 I’ve been traveling back and forth to Iraq working on a longer form doc with Nations Media. The Iraq I’ve come to know and love over the course of these visits is a drastically different place than version of the country I grew up seeing in the news. On my most recent trip I brought a 16mm film camera, one lens and a few cans of film to capture portraits of people I met along the way. Shot on Kodak Super 16mm Special thanks to: All of the wonderful people who were brave enough to let me take their picture Mckinzy Powers Joel Parker Mark Foreman Jeycob Carlson Jacqueline Isaac Robert Samo Metropolis Post @Nations (https://ift.tt/2kfukXW)
